National Quality Award in Moldova for 2008 edition, implemented by BRC under contract with World Bank Competitiveness Enhancement Project in Moldova
Project duration:  01.12.2008 - 31.03.2009       

Under a contract with the World Bank Competitiveness Enhancement Project in Moldova, BRC conducted assessment of 20 companies for 2008 edition of the National Quality Award in Moldova. The National Quality Award was based on assessment criteria of the Quality Excellence Model in Moldova approved by Government Decision nr. 1033 dated September 14, 2007. The assessment of award candidates included the following steps: receipt of applications, including all necessary self-assessment reports and documentation, submitted by enterprises; setting the group of assessors; carrying out primary assessment and scoring based on information and reports attached to the application; carrying out on-site assessments of the companies; finalizing the assessment and scoring of companies, preparing the final top of award nominees.

A total of 20 companies were assessed, most of them being renowned companies in Moldova:

  14. "VIORICA-COSMETIC" SA
  15. "BASARABIA" CAP
  16. "ORHEI VIT" SA
  17. "MOLDDATA" ÎS
  18. "TRANS‐STANDARD" SRL
  19. "KERAMIN CHIŞINĂU" SRL
  20. "BARZA ALBĂ" SA

The assessment was carried out by 14 experts, applying criteria of the Quality Excellence Model, which was based on 9 criteria:

  1. Leadership,
  2. Strategy,
  3. People,
  4. Partnerships & Resources,
  5. Processes, Products and Services,
  6. Customer Results,
  7. People Results, 
  8. Society Results,
  9. Key Results. 

Our experts, besides assessment, provided consultancy to assessed enterprises in how to improve scores on each criteria and, as a result, improve company competitiveness and performance.

 

The assessment was highly appreciated by the assessed companies and the beneficiary (Government of Moldova). Based on assessment, companies were ranked according to three categories: I, II and III prize. The prizes were awarded, during the official event, by the President of Moldova, Speaker of the Parliament and Prime Minister.
